About Sittong
Sittong or Sitong is a newly added destination in the tourism map of Eastern Himalaya Region . It is a beautiful village in Kalimpong district, West Bengal. For the heart touching natural beauty, this place has been popular within a very short time duration. You will be amazed with the loveliness of the place as well as the local people.
If you come one time here in your life, you will be definitely fascinated with the local people. As it is a small village, there are few numbers of home stays, run by local peoples only. From some of the homestays you can visit Mt. Khanchendzonga also from the room. Not only that, this hilly village is full of large numbers of Animals and birds. Sittong is also famous for the orange cultivation. In every Year, in the month of November, local association arranges orange festival, where you will find not only nature, you can experience a small trekking trail also. So, Sittong should be added in your next vacation trip.

How to reach Sittong
Nearest Airport : Bagdogra Airport (IXB). It is about 36 kilometers from Bagdogra to Sittong by raod. Nearest Railway Station : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). It is about 32 kilometers from NJP to Sittong by road. Â
What to see in Sittong / Places to visit near Sittong
- Ahaldara – Ahaldara is that view point from where you can get 360 degree view of the area. In one side you will discover river Teesta from up to down view and another side is with entire vast Khanchendzonga range. At this point your heart will tell you not to leave the place. ‘wow’ will come out from the core of your heart again and again. Definitely Ahaldara will be one of the most memorable place in your entire life.
- Latpanchar – Latpanchar is a beautiful mountain hamlet in Eastern Himalaya region. Beautiful natural beauty and a plenty numbers of birds are the actual assets of this place. Latpanchar is the paradise for bird watchers. In every year, a large number of bird watchers come from different sides of the country and world to capture the bird’s moments in lens.
- Mongpu – Mongpu is famous for the plantation of Cinchona (The cinchona tree bark is used to produce ‘Quinine’ – the anti malarial drug)  and there is a house of our Great poet Rabindranath Tagore. You will find the house just beside a  former Cinchona factory.
- Orange Garden – Sitong is famous for Orange Plantation. If you come here from November to February, you will be impresses with the place definitely as this is the riping time of orange, and the weather remains clean generally at that time.
